Kitchen Facelift
TThis 1930’s original log home has been updated and remodeled over the years, but it was time again for a kitchen “facelift.” Instead of gutting everything, we replaced the sink, backsplash, countertop, updated some paint colors, and changed out the oversized island with a retrofitted vintage work bench to maintain the old log home’s charm.
This 1930’s original log home has been updated and remodeled over the years, but it was time again for a kitchen “facelift.” Instead of gutting everything, we replaced the sink, backsplash, countertop, updated some paint colors, and changed out the oversized island with a retrofitted vintage work bench to maintain the old log home’s charm.
This original work bench was purchased at a vintage furniture store. The drawers were removed and replaced with open shelves, a new drop leaf table was built and distressed to match. Iron caster wheels gives appropriate height.
The original sink base was cut down to fit the new farmhouse sink and painted and distressed for a splash of color. Reclaimed brick keeps the old log home’s charm. New, fun cabinet hardware adds the finishing touch.
